That's what I was referring to. We don't have pictures in the docs yet
but we should have that fixed since this comes up rather often (slightly
tilting the display may cause this) - thankfully it happened to me too
so it's easy to spot ;) I've added your comment to

It's more of a "short cut" atm since so many moving parts still change
and not everything comes in via dist-upgrade (most notably kernel, dtb
and uboot). Kernel (including dtb) will be fixed soon leaving uboot which
is a bit more work. The nicest thing would be to add support the
uboot-imx Debian uses so it works out of the box.

The uboot environment doesn't really matter in this case. DRM picks the
right stuff since HDMI is disabled, I've run a dist-upgraded image while
working on this stuff - it's rather a coincidence that the switch to
distro_bootcmd happened at the same time (but it makes things much
simpler).
