Hi,

This is to bring this discussion on reddit channel to the mailing list
which can be found on the below link -
https://www.reddit.com/r/Purism/comments/aj1mq6/sandboxing_android_apps_on_the_librem_5/

Anbox seems to be the default choice to run Android containers on
PureOS to make Android apps compatible.
However the approch discussed below makes more sense -

https://events.linuxfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Tutorial-Constructing-App-Streaming-Cloud-Infrastructure-Using-Android-Containers-Dr.-Tzi-cker-Chiueh-_-Sting-Cheng-ICL_ITRI.pdf

The above method requires running multiple container with customized
Android for apps.
This is possible with the latest binderfs support in Linux kernel.

To find out more about binderfs refer -
https://brauner.github.io/2019/01/09/android-binderfs.html

Let me know if this needs to be discussed with debian or kernel groups
to make Librem-5 Android App compatible.

Regards,
Saket Sinha
