[Librem-5-dev] Problems downloading from the Jenkins site?

Hi all,

I'll be sending a few e-mails to this list today, as a way of keeping a
bunch of issues separate.   If this e-mail belongs on a different list,
please let me know.

I've had some problems downloading anything from the Jenkins site that
holds the emulator images and other tools.

I first noticed the issue when attempting to flash a current image to my
dev board.   During the process, there is something that is downloaded
from that site.   I tried numerous times, and was unable to get the
transfer to complete.   Worse, because of how that component is
downloaded, it isn't a transfer that can be restarted.   I ultimately
had to hack the script to work around the problem and get the board
flashed.  (Sorry this is light on details.  It was a few weeks ago, and
I figured it was just a transient problem with my connection.)

But, last week I saw the problem again while attempting to download the
QEMU image to run in an emulator.   I initially attempted to download
the QEMU image using the brave browser. After the 2nd attempt to
download it failed, I decided that I would try wget to see if I could
restart the failed transfer, and eventually get the file.   wget
restarted the attempt around 20 times before giving up.   I restarted it
again, this time using a command line parameter to attempt to restart an
infinite number of times.   It took 40 or 50 retries, but I was finally
able to download the image (and, it actually worked!).

I'm wondering if this is a known issue.   Or, if it isn't a known issue,
if I can assist in any way to figure out what is going on. (I know how
to use a sniffer, and am willing to provide access to a VM from my home
to allow someone to work on this problem.)

Thanks!
